**Job Summary**

The primary purpose of the ESL Instructor is to plan, organize and deliver training material to international students in an instructor led environment. The ESL Instructor will be responsible to teach and facilitate English courses and workshops for international students. The Instructor will provide ongoing feedback to students and evaluate student performance relating to the training material using a variety of assessments. The role will be responsible for coordinating, mentoring and monitoring students while assisting with activities to support student success and administrative functions where required. The ESL Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of Canada Heavy Equipment College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT) designation is preferred.
- Degree or diploma related in English is preferred.
- 4 years of experience working in an ESL role is required.
- Adult education and teaching experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and use of the internet.
- Understanding of Adult Learning Principles is required.
- Fluent English communication skills (oral and written) are essential.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Preparation of daily lesson plans.
- Instructs assigned courses in accordance with course competencies.
- Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of the students.
- Prepares class materials and assessments as required.
- Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance policies
- Encourage and drives participation in ESL enrollments by coordinating with students and instructors to promote the program.
- Keeping archives of student work and correspondence (if necessary), and maintaining and reporting student participation, evaluations/grades as possible.
- Other duties as required.
