Lafarge is seeking a
**Responsibilities**:
- Implement the QC program (inspections, tests, completion of forms.)
- Perform all types of concrete tests as required at plant & or in field.
- Work closely with ready mix drivers to educate them on mixes, slumps, air contents.
- Perform aggregate sampling and burn offs.
- Run and maintain testing equipment.
- Perform equipment calibrations as required.
- Maintain records of testing documentation.
- Provide technical support to production staff.
- Advise production staff if testing shows any deficiencies and develop action plans as required.
- Fill out all paperwork manually and on computer spreadsheets.
- Ensure all operations and paperwork are in compliance with CSA.
Qualifications:
**Education & Experience**:
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in quality control/construction field.
- Experience working in the concrete industry is required.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification (certification must be obtained within one year of start date) or CCIL Concrete Certification (preferred).
**Skills & Knowledge**:
- Safety oriented.
- Results oriented.
- Strong product and production knowledge; have understanding of the chemistry of concrete and its ingredients.
- Able to interpret drawings.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Maintains composure in dealing with difficult situations.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
**Working Environment**:
- Able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles.
- Able to work in an industrial environment that may include dust, heat, loud noise.
