Arborist Groundsman/woman

Our thriving commercial tree care, lawn and property maintenance company in Waterloo region is looking for a hard working **Groundsman/woman & Arborist Apprentice** to join our team for full time, year round employment.

We work Monday to Friday, starting each day at our Shop in Waterloo.

**Position Description**:

- Maintain, prune, plant and remove municipal trees in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, our policies and procedures and industry Arboriculture best practices
- Understand and document work orders while delivering excellent customer service
- Skills to operate chainsaws, chippers and other equipment
- Properly maintain all tools and equipment
- Safely prune or remove large limbs using advanced rigging techniques
- Other duties as assigned

Experience/Qualifications:

- Be willing to learn practically on site by assisting the Climbing Arborist/ Crew Leader on the ground and aloft with cabling and bracing, pruning, rigging and removals.
- Hold a valid “G” license required with a clean Driver’s Abstract
- Willing to work towards becoming Ontario Licensed Arborist
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- Day shift

**Experience**:

- Arborist: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (required)
