Farm Hand

Stronks Feedlot is a growing feedlot in Southern Alberta, Picture Butte area. We are seeking a positive, team oriented, energetic, experienced Farm Hand. This is a regular full-time position and during the growing and harvesting season longer hours will be required including weekends.

You will be responsible for the:
Crop Season
- Spraying of all crops, harvesting (silaging, combining)
- Preparation for the crop growing season including spring tillage
- Harvesting (silaging, combining)
- Grain storage, cleaning and moving
- Directly working with all farm equipment (sprayer, loaders, 4WD tractors, grain cart)
- Preparation of grain storage and cleaning
- Moving grain
- Equipment maintenance

Off Season
- Assisting in bedding feedlots
- General maintenance
- Assist in cleaning the dryland, feedlot and shop yards, snow removal as necessary
- Grain monitoring and movement
- Bin aeration set up and handling

Skills required for this position:

- Efficiently operate various farm equipment
- Able to problem solve, thinking outside the box with attention to detail
- Ability to climb heights and follow safety protocols (pivots, bins, grain let, etc.).
- Strong mathematical skills
- Must have a valid drivers license, preferably Class 1 or 3.

Pay will be adjusted for someone with previous experience.
