Storekeeper

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Storekeeper position. The Storekeeper receives, stores, processed and dispatches supplies and mail according to the Hospital's policies and procedures and customer requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Receive goods and complete necessary documentation associated with receiving.
- Store goods in assigned areas, rotating stock to ensure shelf life
- Distribute goods in approved manner ensuring that all necessary documents are processed before and after distribution.
- Product expiration tracking system maintenance (Red Dot)
- Maintain database and update Material Safety Data Sheets, as per Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Provide backup for other areas within the services.
- Process printing orders as requested.
- Clean shelves, cupboards, storage bins and carts on a scheduled basis.
- Prepare pathological waste for disposal.
- Documents and perform data input of a computerized inventory system.
- Operate the appropriate equipment for the service area, i.e. fax, photocopier, computer, printer, lifting devices, laminator, postage meter.
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plan.
- Use of critical thinking skills to resolve issues
- Maintain database on M.S.D.S. binders throughout the hospital.
- Participate in the Hospital Watch Program.
- Ensures patient safety and infection prevention and control relating to the position
- Assist with taking inventory
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent that is acceptable to the Hospital.
- Transportation of Dangerous Good certification preferred.
- Clerical experience preferred.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and self-direction with the ability to work with mínimal supervision and contribute to a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and continuing education.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis and be available to work all shifts.
- Collaborates with other team members.
- Is knowledgeable of the roles of other team members and recognizes their contributions.
**Other pertinent conditions**:
- Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($26.50 per hour to $27.07 per hour)
