**About Us**:
Western Engineering Outreach is an organization run by Western Engineering which strives to increase the awareness of and cultivate interest in engineering and technology in young peoples through interactive and innovative programs in London, Ontario and the surrounding communities. Western Engineering Outreach offers exciting programs for elementary and high school students, as well as partnering with community organizations to reach as many aspiring minds as possible. These programs aim to inspire and empower students with engineering skills.

**Responsibilities**:
This position supports the summer programs of Western Engineering Outreach to provide community outreach and engagement to youth, community partners and teachers in the London & Middlesex Community. Western Engineering Outreach provides a pathway for youth to experience Western Engineering firsthand and start their journey to potentially becoming future students at Western University.

The Junior Instructor will assist in the delivery and preparation of summer camp programs and assist with managing behaviours in the programs. The incumbent will take guidance from their supervisor, and work productively and courteously with their work team and other members of the Western community.
- Training will be held on June 1st and 22nd. Camps and regular shifts commence the week of July 2nd._

**Qualifications**

**Education**:
- Must be a student returning to studies in the fall or current high school student

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- First Aid and CPR-C Certification required
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) required prior to employment start date

**Experience**:
- 1 year part time employment or volunteer experience
- Previous camp experience preferred
- Participation in Western Engineering Leaders in Training preferred
- Comfort with swimming preferred

- Written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Reliable and dependable with the ability to consistently work assigned schedule
- Ability to follow processes and practices with high attention to detail
- Demonstrates integrity and works in accordance with Western’s policies and procedures
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized work environment
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use new software programs as required
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements as applicable
