**THE ROLE**
- Instruct athletes in lifesaving courses
- Implement lesson plans during the co-curricular block
- Organize group practice activities/exercises and provide appropriate instruction, coaching, and feedback
- Educate students on safe practices and ensure safety and functionality of all equipment
- Attend and supervise all team-related activities
- Work cooperatively with Appleby faculty in a pool environment
- Maintain administrative records (i.e., attendance, progress reports, meeting results, etc.)
- Meet regularly with the Director of Athletics to ensure that all recommended and current programs are effectively implemented
- Commit to 4 days per week (1 hour each day) for the term of this co-curricular

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- National Lifeguard Certification and Standard First Aid
- National Lifeguard Certification Instructor and First Aid Instructor certified
- National Lifeguard Instructor Examiner and First Aid Course Examiner are asset
- Previous experience teaching lifesaving and first aid
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Confident and professional speaking abilities
- Must be able to train and teach at the Lifesaving Society's certified Coaches and Officials level
