Sandblaster / Rubber Lining Labourer

**Shift**

Day (Mon-Fri, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not being limited to, the following:

- Safely operate Sandblasting equipment to remove paint, grease, rust and dirt from metal material in preparation for painting and rubber lining.
- Regulate pressure and composition of sandblasting equipment.
- Mask specific areas of object to protect from abrading action.
- Competent use of various manual, electric and pneumatic hand tools including drills, grinder, buffing tools, tire grooving tool etc.
- Competent math skills to calculate material needs and surface patterns
- Brush Painting of solvents and adhesives
- Must have high tolerance for various paint and rubber fumes which comes with the paint as well as other areas in the plant.
- Maintain the sandblasting equipment, such as cleaning and changing nozzles.
- Notify lead hand immediately of equipment malfunction or failure, or quality problems.
- Perform own material handling with various types of equipment such as pump carts and forklifts.
- Must have the ability to work quickly, as well as effectively loading and unloading parts from the paint lines to ensure good coverage of paint for each part.
- Must have high tolerance for various paint fumes which comes with the paint as well as other areas in the plant.
- Must have the ability to work in an area that can be uncomfortable due to noise, odours and extreme temperatures.
- Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented work.
- Must have CSA approved steel toed work boots.
- Occasional lifting up to 40lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements as outlined in the applicable QMS
- Promptly report personal injuries and unsafe conditions and help to resolve them.
