**Part-Time Program Lead**

**(After School Program) - 3 Openings

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Circulate through fourteen in-person sites and one virtual site to support the development and

delivery of engaging physical activity, nutrition and health & wellness-based programming for
children in grades 1-6 in high priority neighbourhoods across the City of Hamilton
- Report to direct supervisor
- Demonstrate use of positive behaviour guidance, support staff with behaviour guidance technique,
- best practices, and on-the-spot mentorship and feedback- Plans and helps implement reward systems to enforce positive reinforcement
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership skills (i.e., teaching by showing)
- Maintain professional and respectful relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, school staff,
- parents/guardians and community members- Create a welcoming environment for children that encourages daily participation
- Ensure program health & safety protocols are followed
- Help plan and execute monthly meetings & trainings
- Follow all guidelines as set out by the Ministry, School Board, and BGC Hamilton Halton
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to take initiative in a rapidly-shifting programming
- environment- Have a commitment to the Clubs mission, Vision and Core Values- Be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators or Ontario College of Teachers,

and/or has a diploma/degree or is currently enrolled in a post-secondary program studying child
and youth care, recreation or leisure services, social work, psychology, sociology, kinesiology with
a focus/experience working with children ages 6-12 years.
- Have a G-Class Drivers’ License, Standard First Aid and CPR-C and Safe Food Handlers
- Have High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development is an asset
- Provide an acceptable police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization**
