**About the Role**

Under the direction of the Lands Manager, the Lands Assistant will support the Lands Department in administering governance over reserve lands and natural resources. The position supports, facilitates, and coordinates engagement in the community while liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders. This role collects data, conducts research, and completes various administrative tasks within the Lands Department while helping to provide advice to decision makers surrounding stewardship of lands and resources.

**Note**: This will be a full-time, permanent position.

**What you will be doing**
- Supporting the Lands Manager liaising with external contractors and the general public regarding various inquiries
- Conducting all Lands Department administrative filing
- Supporting K’ómoks members with any forms, waivers and permits that may be required
- Supporting the Lands Manager with providing information regarding Wills and Estates transactions to members of the community, and paperwork for status cards or member events
- Communicating with K’ómoks members about community complaints and other Lands related issues
- Preparing and administering any K’ómoks First Nation business that requires a Commissioner for taking affidavits service by the Lands Manager
- Preparing K’ómoks First Nation land transactions and submitting them to the First Nations Lands Registry System
- Supporting the Lands Manager in the monthly Lands Committee Meetings
- Monitoring of all the Footprints Security Patrol nightly, targeted reports, member videos, and commentary for K’ómoks First Nation IR#1 security
- Supporting the Lands Manager with preparing CP’s for members
- Supporting any activities that support our K’ómoks First Nation Emergency Management and Emergency Planning Committee
- Preparing, researching, and supporting the creation of KFN Laws and Policies with the Lands Manager
- Other duties and tasks as assigned

**What you will need**
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an administrative role within an office environment
- Completion of a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent experience is an asset
- Prior lands and resources experience is an asset
- Experience working in an indigenous environment is preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
