Aquatic Services provide London families and individuals of all ages with opportunities to participate in unstructured aquatic activities and structured educational programs to teach drowning prevention and water safety.

**Role**:
Reporting to the on-site Pool Manager, Assistant Pool Manager, or Deck Supervisor, the Aquatic Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for Londoners. This casual position works as part of a team in a public facing fast paced aquatic environment to promote public water safety, involved in drowning prevention events and assists with swim lessons while providing excellent customer service to Londoners

**Responsibilities**:

- Control the use of pool equipment and amusement devices during recreational swims and facility rentals.
- Supervise the public while using the wading pools and/or slide during operating hours.
- Assist in the aquatic Learn to Swim program lesson planning instruction, supervision, and delivery with guidance from Instructor/guard.
- Promote public water safety education drowning prevention initiatives.
- Participate in all training sessions and be able to demonstrate and maintain skills relevant to the position.

**.**:

- Clean wading pool prior to filling and empty at the end of the day. Supervise the wading pool until it is completely emptied.
- Record and submit timely, neat and accurate documentation including but not limited to bather load, chemical logs, incident and accident reports etc.
- Conduct and organize daily games and activities as well as weekly special event days.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a positive and professional attitude when communicating with participants, parents, the public, and co-workers.
- Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression and human rights through practices and interactions with community partners, employees, and individuals and support programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment.
- Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Current Standard First Aid Certificate (prior to the start of employment)
- Current Bronze Cross or higher Certificate
- Current Lifesaving Society Assistant Instructor or higher Certificate recommended.
- Vulnerable Persons Police Screening (prior to the start of employment)

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to demonstrate good communication, high energy, enthusiasm and continued positive attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- High level of comfort in fast paced public facing environments.
- Experience working with children, youth and/or adults with special needs an asset.
- Second language is an asset (please indicate on resume).

**Other Information**:
Wage: $16.55 per hour
