**Manager, Social Media**
United Way Greater Toronto is looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and creative Social Media Manager to join our team at our Toronto office.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Content, the Manager, Social Media is responsible for managing United Way Greater Toronto’s social media presence and cultivation of our online community, as well as the creation and implementation of social media plans to support integrated marketing campaigns and deliver on key performance indicators.
**What you’ll do**:
- Create and maintain the social media editorial calendar in support of organizational and marketing objectives, and collaborate with writers, designers, and other internal stakeholders to write, schedule and post on-brand content
- Appropriately respond to comments and direct messages in order to foster a positive online community
- Collect and analyze social metrics, surfacing insights from social campaigns, events, and day-to-day social in the form of in-depth, actionable reports with the goal of continuously improving social reach and engagement
- Create ad-hoc social media content as required by internal stakeholders
- Create/update social media content for awareness days and months
- Maintain and update social media platforms as they evolve
- Monitor content across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram seven days a week, and escalate any potentially controversial comments to relevant internal stakeholders in a timely manner. Minimal weekend monitoring required.
- Enforce the Social Media Guidelines as defined by the brand
- Participate constructively in inter-department meetings and communications, including editorial meetings
- Occasionally support events through live tweeting to reach a wider audience online
- Provide social media training to colleagues and stakeholders as required
- Other duties as assigned
**What you’ll need to be successful**:
- Minimum 3 years professional experience managing social media plans and platforms
- Experience with Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, including familiarity with optimizing content to leverage content algorithms
- Active participation in social media through community development and management, content curation, social engagement
- Experience working with creative teams and providing expertise in creative direction for social media platforms
- Excellent written and proof-reading skills
- Organized and independent, ability to create original content with little direction
- High attention to detail, ability to set priorities, manage several projects at once and meet deadlines under pressure
- Experience with social analytics and reporting
- Current on GTA news and issues
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite an asset
- Photography and videography skills, including editing, an asset
- Degree, diploma or professional experience in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies and/or related fields an asset
- Familiarity with CP Style an asset
- Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally
