**Victoria Women’s Transition House (VWTH)** is looking for an outstanding **f**ull-time, Residential Coordinator** to join our 3rd Stage Housing team
We are a non-profit charity, providing emergency shelter, counselling and support services for women of all ages, with or without children, fleeing from intimate partner violence and abuse. We are a vibrant, collaborative community looking for exceptional people to help us grow as we work towards our mission of ending intimate partner violence.
**Details of the Position**:
The Residential Coordinator develops, implements and oversees the day-to-day programming and is responsible for program development, policy and procedure, program evaluation and draft budget preparation. Other key responsibilities:
- Plans and implements program activities and special events. Ensures effective program / service delivery that is consistent with the mandate
- Oversees day-to-day by ensuring that the physical building is managed appropriately, that program guidelines and policies are adhered to and program standards and statutory requirements are met.
- Oversight and coordination with the property management team. Ensures that program and tenancy aspects of the project are well connected.
- Recruitment and selection of tenants. Provides assessment, goal-setting and support for individuals living in residence. Oversees the delivery of service to tenants.
- Promotes public awareness and support for the program. Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals and represent the organization/program in the community.
- Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
**Qualifications**:
A degree in social work or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience plus three years experience in similar environment/ housing sector.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize, and use time effectively.
- Experience working in a leadership capacity with volunteers and community members considered an asset
- Knowledge and understanding of local needs, community resources, and partners.
- The ability to work effectively with other program staff, therapists, social workers, and other related personnel.
This position must have own vehicle and requires union membership, satisfactory completion of a criminal records search, TB test and Standard First Aid Certificate.
**Wage and Benefits**:
This is a union position and starts at $31.41 per hour. Excellent extended health and dental, pension plan.
