**Group Summary**:

**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor/ Quality Manager, the Quality Technician (Utility) is responsible for, but not limited to, verifying that in-process and finished goods (internal, supplier and customer related) satisfy all customer requirements. Responsible for release and disposition of conforming and non-conforming material.
**Your Responsibilities**:
Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and following all Safety Rules at QSS. Follows all Plant Standards and ensures compliance to the QSS employee handbook along with all QSS policies and procedures.
Responsible to ensure they are aware of the correct and safe way to operate their equipment, follows all ODS instructions and complies with Company standards on the use of personal protective equipment.
Responsible for recognizing and rectifying unsafe working conditions and maintains excellent housekeeping (5S) at QSS.
Ensure that all quality departmental objectives and activities participated in at QSS are aligned to the Magna Employee Charter and Magna Corporate Constitution.
Adheres to Technical Systems Procedures, Quality Instructions and compliance to all QSS policies and procedures.
Adhere to QSS Quality Policy and IATF 16949 standard & comply with all QSS policies and procedures
Review, identify, document and disposition of all defective components. Monitor in-process and finished goods.
Maintains and organizes the QSS quarantine area.
Supports Quality Engineers with RMAs and cage reconciliation.
Reviews and dispositions all material returned from the customer, conducts and documents for audits.
Perform data entry & analysis as needed.
Assists with monitoring and reporting supplier performance to QSS management and the supplier,
Responsible for PPAP process along with managing corrective and preventative actions and encouraging continuous improvement in compliance to the QSS quality policy.
Conduct Gauge R&R studies, measure and audit product performance. Conduct capability studies and prepared reports for PPAP.
Monitors and maintains the internal calibration system for the Quality related tools.
Perform required process and product checks as required (ex. Fixture checks, static torque checks, FAM)
Respond to internal and external customer calls as required in a timely manner.
Initiates and actively participates in problem solving.
Perform special projects as assigned in support of the organizations business objectives (IATF, BIQS, SAP, QPF)
Other duties and projects as assigned.

**Your preferred qualifications**:

Post secondary education preferred. Minimum 3 years working experience with one (1) year of related experience in a manufacturing facility. Two to five years of related quality inspection experience preferred.
Requires experience performing dimensional checks using measuring equipment (ie. Micrometer, FARO, CMM).
Good understanding of engineering principles, documentation and blueprint reading preferred. Able to multitask with the ability to use all types of inspection measuring devices as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, block gauges, etc.
Must be proficient in MS Office and SPC.
Good understanding of QSS assembly operations.
Good organizational skills, ability to work independently and on a team. Willing to work shifts and overtime as required and ability to read and write English.
