With masters $56,159 to $92,027

**NATURE OF THE WORK**:
**THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS’ ROLE WILL INVOLVE THE IDENTIFICATION AND EARLY INTERVENTION OF SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN, IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY GOALS AND RECOMMEND APPROPRIATE LEARNING STRATEGIES. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSULTING AND COLLABORATING WITH EDUCATORS, PARENTS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS. IN ADDITION, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO**:

- Evaluate the needs of students experiencing communication disorders;
- Analyze and interpret the information collected in order to assess hearing, language, voice and speech problems and to determine a treatment plan adapted to the student’s abilities, while taking into account their personal and environmental needs;
- Prepare a speech therapy or audiology treatment and intervention plan adapted to the student’s abilities;
- Participate in developing and implementing a speech therapy or audiology service that meets the academic and administrative requirements of both the educational institutions and the school board;
- Work with classes or groups of students exhibiting common difficulties or specific problems so as to facilitate their learning and social integration;
- Establish and maintain collaboration and relationships with partner organizations; contact those involved in intervention efforts to obtain or provide advice and information; refer the student or parents to resources appropriate for the situation and needs;
- Advise management staff, prepare expertise, evaluation, briefing and progress reports and make appropriate recommendations to support decision-making;
- Prepare and update files according to the standards related to the practice of the profession and the rules defined by the school board; prepare progress notes or evaluation, end-of-process and follow-up reports on interventions.

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Member of the Ordre des orthophonistes et audiologistes du Québec;
- Excellent knowledge of oral and written English;
- Knowledge of oral and written French would be an asset.
