**Position: General School Helper**

**Location: 20 O'Brien Court, Ajax**

**Hours: 5 hours a day or more**

**Rate of Pay: $16.00-$18.00**

**Anticipated Start Date: September 1st or earlier**

**About the role**

At Blaisdale Montessori School you will work as a General Helper at the school alongside some of the most passionate, caring, and dedicated educators in the industry. You will spend your time engaging, connecting, and learning alongside children, families, community partners, and co-workers. You will model and grow a perspective of equity and strive for a deeper understanding of cultural awareness. You will work up to 25 hours a week from Monday to Friday. Hours typically run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

**Some accountabilities associated with the role includes**:

- Demonstrating respect for spaces by ensuring the safety and cleanliness of all equipment, furniture, and materials.
- Disinfecting the school /cleaning as required, in alignment with COVID protocols
- Helping with supervision of the children's lunch times if needed, washing lunch dishes.
- Working as part of a team with Co-workers, Families, Community Partners, and Children.
- Ensuring the safety of staff and children by learning and acknowledging all children's diverse needs, backgrounds, and creating equitable opportunities for all children to engage.
- Serving Hot Lunches to children, helping with light housekeeping, small painting jobs if needed and covering classroom lunch hours.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $16.55-$18.60 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
