The Yard Foreman is responsible for the Rothesay Yacht Club’s day-to-day operations, and is accountable to the Board of Directors. The Yard Foreman’s responsibilities include ensuring member satisfaction, supervising facility and grounds management, & assist LTS Director with summer programs.
**Responsibilities**:
Ensure the safety of all members, guests, and staff while on club grounds or using club boats. Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to by members and staff.
Ensure members’ needs and concerns are being addressed.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the club’s property, clubhouse, docks, boats, and equipment. Assist Directors as needed, including but not limited to planning and purchasing of goods and services. Train, and supervise Deck Hands.
Respond to membership inquiries and facilitate the recruitment of new members.
Maintain effective communication with the club’s Administration Manager, Directors and committees. Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors regarding the club’s operations.
Identify opportunities to improve operations. Administration duties as assigned.
Program Management
**Assist the LTS Director in **Managing and developing the club’s Learn to Sail programs.
Identify opportunities to improve, expand, or add to the club’s current programs to meet our current members’ needs and attract new members.
**Qualifications**:
5+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in a relevant industry. 3+ years of experience managing a recreational program, camp, or similar. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of boating and marina equipment (docks, moorings and marine engines) would be an asset.
5+ years experience in general contracting and equipment maintenance would be an asset.
Boaters Safety Certificate or willing to obtain Boaters Safety Certificate is required.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
