Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Online School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. At HCOS, we are focused on growing in academics as we grow in relationship with Jesus.

Heritage Christian Online School has need for 1-2 self-employed Special Education Assistants in **Coquitlam, BC** to work with multiple students in their family homes for **15-35 hours per week**.

Specific training in working with students with special needs, such as an Education Assistant certificate (or equivalent) is required.
- have a strong background in Special Education with knowledge of ASD (POPARD training an asset), ADHD, selective mutism, and generalized learning difficulties.
- be able to provide academic support in reading, writing, and math (Grades 6-11), as well as, side-by-side play, games and music at the kindergarten level - these roles can be filled by one or more EAs.
- be creative in teaching approach.
- approach stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- understand the need to be flexible and adaptable.
- have a desire to learn and grow in their knowledge of Special Education.
- have strong written/verbal and technological skills.
- be able to work well independently within a scaffolded environment.
- have a team-focused approach.
- have a valid Class 5 driver's licence.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Part-time hours: 15-35 per week

**Salary**: $26.00-$30.90 per hour
