**Your Role and Responsibilities**

The Metallurgist serves an integral role on the APQP development team and is responsible for ensuring that the customer's quality requirements are understood, communicated, and implemented throughout the product lifecycle. The Metallurgist is responsible for reviewing the customer's metallurgical requirements including all related specifications and ensures compliance by developing and documenting the required PHS process requirements (Recipe), test procedures, test frequencies, and test reports.

**_Responsibilities:_**
- Manage the laboratory activities to ensure that all test equipment, personnel training, and testing procedures/reports comply with customer (including AIAG CQI-9), and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
- Develop and maintain PHS recipes and supporting systems (i.e. QuinLogic, Die Set) to ensure that all PHS processed product complies with customer's metallurgical requirements
- Identify PHS process and quality improvement initiatives through the ongoing review of Recipes, Test Results, and process data (QuinLogic), and initiate the required change when appropriate
- Develop validation plans during APQP to ensure that the required inspection and test equipment are available or acquired to ensure that PHS produced product can be validated to the customer's specification
- Develop the required product PHS Inspection Plans, Test Plans, and Test Reports to ensure customer requirements are met and are accurately reflected on Control Plans
- Coordinate and conduct the required sample preparation, mechanical testing, and metallographic/microstructure inspection activities to ensure compliance with customer/Control Plan and CQI-9 requirements
- Maintain all Laboratory documents and records to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Ensure all work is consistently done in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Actively participates on Marwood Project Teams and other assigned or relevant duties

**_ Key Requirements:_**
- Grade 12, GED, or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in Metallurgy and/or Material Science preferred
- Experience and knowledge of Microstructural Analysis
- Experience using Metallurgical preparation and analysis equipment
- Experience with heat treating steel and metal stampings
- Working knowledge of AIAG CQI-9
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
- 5 years related experience in Tier I Automotive manufacturing
- Computer efficiency and systems knowledge in all required areas
