**Summary**:
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Unix system administration**:

- Administer Unix services
- Diagnose system issues
- Perform limited component and utility upgrades
- Tune systems for performance
- Monitor and manage backups
- Evaluate and manage security updates
- Manage space allocation
- Manage windows integrations
- Maintain and create scripts and programs
- Create and maintain cron jobs
- Manage component licensing
- Install, upgrade and maintain new system components as required
- Architect and design solutions as required

**Database administration (Oracle/mysql/postgresql)**:

- Stop/start databases and listeners
- Manage replication/DR
- Install/uninstall
- Add/remove users and permissions
- **Requirements**:_
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Unix administrator.
- Proficiency in Unix scripting languages
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
- Database administration in a Unix environment
- Proficiency in SQL - particular emphasis on the dialects for MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL
- Highly organized and responsible.
- Up-to-date with trends and developments in Unix administration

**Will be considered an Asset**:

- Windows powershell scripting
- Windows basic administration
- Mac OSX administration
- Code release management using Jira Service Manager or other tool
- Subversion, Git, TFS(TFVC) experience
- Strong documentation skills
- OWASP Training

- Ability to work under pressure and react with urgency, meet deadlines and produce results on time
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively under constant changing conditions

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:

- unix administration: 5 years (preferred)
- unix scripting language: 5 years (preferred)
- MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL: 4 years (preferred)
- Database administration in a Unix environment: 4 years (preferred)
- windows powershell scripting: 3 years (preferred)
- code release management using Jira Service Manager: 3 years (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Etobicoke, ON
