Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and installing various structures and fixtures. This is a physically demanding role that requires experience in blueprint reading, knowledge in residential construction, concrete, masonry, and siding installation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall materials
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, stairs, and molding
- Inspect and repair damaged frameworks or structures
- Perform construction painting and finishing tasks
- Lay tiles for flooring or walls
- Assist with masonry work when necessary
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time

**Experience**:

- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools
- Experience in construction drywall and floor laying
- Familiarity with masonry work is a plus
- Ability to assemble and build structures according to specifications
- Capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bedford, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- carpentry: 8 years (required)
