Western Maritime Institute is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our IT Department. This position is performed on-site at our Ladysmith Campus.

As an **IT Technician ,** you will perform system upgrades and projects implemented under the direction of the management team. Assembling, Maintaining and configuring hardware and software components.

Reporting to the Office Manager the IT Technician is responsible for all IT support needed at the campus.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide IT support to all staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Set up and configure desktops and laptops
- Install and maintain computer hardware and peripherals
- Respond to help issues and provide timely resolution to technical issues
- Assist with computer networking tasks, including setting up VPN connections
- Document IT procedures and maintain knowledge base for future reference
- Deliver excellent customer service throughout the recruiting, registration, and enrollment process.

**Competencies & Qualifications**
- Proven experience in IT support or desktop support role
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Knowledge of computer networking principles and protocols
- Familiarity with common operating systems, such as Windows, Microsoft, VPN, Canvas, Servers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 32 per week
