Owned by InnVest Hotels, Canada’s largest owner & operator of hotels and focused exclusively on hospitality, Marriott Ottawa is preparing to begin a transformative, top to bottom renovation of all guestrooms, meeting and event space as well as all public areas, commencing in 2023, positioning the hotel to continue its storied legacy of hospitality excellence.

As the Housekeeping Supervisor you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the room cleaning process. This will include evaluating and inspecting completed rooms. These daily services will be your responsibility to give our guests and staff the best first impression of our accommodations.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:

- Assist in the oversight of daily housekeeping operations.
- Maintain controls and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance are achieved through daily walk around and documented inspections of guest rooms.
- Ensure all assigned areas are properly cleaned and attended to daily.
- Consistently inspect assigned areas and turn in inspection reports.
- Ensure that all reports are prepared completely and promptly.
- Support departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets and policies and procedures.
- Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Report all maintenance defects and any unusual appearances promptly.
- Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the housekeeping team with an emphasis on training and teamwork.
- Ensure that Room Attendant’s cart is properly stocked with linen and guest supplies, and neat in appearance.
- Assist in an effective and complete training program that is in use and assist in ensuring all Associates are well trained and re-trained, as needed.
- Follow Biohazard Disposal Procedures to provide a safe work environment for our guests and fellow Associates.
- Must be compliant with all Hotel Emergency Procedures.
- Detect and eliminate, or report for correction, all physical hazards and unsafe conditions immediately by completing a safety work order.
- Insist on good housekeeping and enforce the “Clean as You Go” practice.
- Maintain active involvement in the accomplishment of the accident prevention and reduction objective. Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
- Run sold room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms.
- Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
- Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments.
- Communicate issues to next shift and Complete required paperwork.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or property management systems.
- Other reasonable duties as required.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:

- **Education and Experience**_
- Progressive Experience as a as Hotel Room Attendant.
- Experience as a trainer for the Room Attendant position.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- **Skills and Abilities**_
- Excellent organizational and attention to details skills
- Teamwork
- Proven problem solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to adhere to quality expectations and standards including move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
