**Qualifications**
- **Education**_
- Ideally a completion of Post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood or related field
- **Experience**_
- Minimum one-year experience required
- **Skills**_
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally
- Handle crisis situations
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
- Organizational and effective planning abilities
- **Special Job Requirements/Training**_
- Must pass criminal background check and SD check
- First Aid and CPR certified
- Willing to do on-going training as part of an individualized work plan
- Read and adhere to Employee Policy Manual as well as operational procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of information related children, families, and staff

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- **Program**_
- One on one support for children with exceptional needs
- Assist Educators as needed
- Establish and maintain a safe environment in the classroom and outdoors
- Assist in the development of new services and programs
- Attend scheduled meetings as required
- Participate in special events as required
- Assist in ensuring cleanliness, care, and safety of children’s program areas and equipment
- Regularly share anecdotes, observations, and interests of children with full-time teachers
- Contribute to the progress report and goal setting with classroom teachers
- **Personnel**_
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community
- Ensure the use of effective communication with the team, colleagues, families, and the community
- Participate in staff meetings as required
- Be professional, reflective, and intentional when working with children, the team, colleagues, families, and the community

**Working Conditions**
- Classroom and outdoor setting, job duties permitting

**Physical** **Requirements**
- Lifting of equipment or children as needed
- Long hours standing and walking
- Active listening to others

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $17.90-$24.47 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
