**Role**:
If you are an energetic, self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and time management skills, we would like you to be a part of our team. The Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre has an opportunity for a caretaker in our facility.

Reporting to the Caretaker 3, you will oversee custodial services within the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre. You will be responsible for the supervision of janitorial work carried out by an assigned group of inmates at the Centre; ensuring hygienic standards of the Centre are met. This may include supervising occasional biohazard cleanup as required within the Centre.

You will be responsible for the supervision and training of the inmates on Cleaning Crew in completion of all related janitorial tasks. You will ensure janitorial equipment is fully operational and being used properly by inmate workers. You will also supervise major cleaning of the Centre throughout the year which includes walls, vents and ceilings.

You will perform any other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

**Qualifications**:
Qualifications: High School Diploma and 6 months related experience in commercial cleaning is required; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of; 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Special Requirement: Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks including the ability to physically lift and handle the caretaking equipment.

The following will be considered assets:

- Previous or current experience with cleaning solutions and chemicals used in performing Janitorial work.
- Previous or Current experience with the operation of various janitorial equipment.
- Current WHIMIS certificate.

**Salary**:
$1,669.09 - $1,768.41 biweekly ($30,513 - $46,155/year )

This posting is intended to fill one vacant Caretaker Position at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre. Hours of work is 36.25 per week working Monday to Friday Day shift. There may be requirement for the occasional evening or night shift work hours for special duties.
