**POSITION**:PUMPKIN CARVER/DESIGN ASSISTANT (student)

**HOURS OF WORK**:variable up to 36.25 hours per week (must be able to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays)

**LOCATION**:
**Upper Canada Village**
**(11 km east of Morrisburg)**

**SALARY**:$18.05 per hour

**PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT**:May to September 2025

**WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE?**

You will:

- Assist with the artistic design, carving and assembly of pumpkin-carved exhibits for the Pumpkinferno program at Upper Canada Village.
- Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor.
- Be a representative of one of Morrisburg’s premium and internationally recognized tourism sites.
- Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.

**HOW DO I QUALIFY?**

You have:

- Artistic talent and knowledge of design gained through study, hobby or experience.
- The ability to safely and effectively operate various carving, painting and assembly tools.
- Good communication skills in order to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Good physical condition to meet essential physical demands.
- The ability to work in a team environment, alone and/or with mínimal supervision.
- The ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times.

**HEURES DE TRAVAIL**: Jusqu’à 36,25 heures par semaine (nombre variable; fins de semaine, soirées et jours fériés, au besoin)

**SALAIRE**:?18,05 $ l’heure

**À QUOI PUIS-JE M’ATTENDRE À CE POSTE?**

Vous devrez:

- aider à la conception artistique, à la sculpture et à l’assemblage des expositions de citrouilles sculptées pour le programme Pumpkinferno au Village du Haut-Canada;
- travailler de façon sécuritaire en tout temps et signaler immédiatement les situations dangereuses aux superviseurs;
- agir comme représentant ou représentante de l’un des principaux sites touristiques de Morrisburg, de réputation internationale;
- agir conformément aux principes d’équité, de diversité et d’inclusion de la CPSL lors des échanges avec le personnel et la clientèle.

**QUELLES SONT LES COMPÉTENCES RECHERCHÉES?**

Vous vous distinguez par:

- un talent artistique, notamment en design, acquis par des études, un passe-temps ou l’expérience;
- la capacité d’utiliser de façon efficace et sécuritaire divers outils de sculpture, de peinture et d’assemblage;
- une bonne aptitude à la communication afin de comprendre et d’appliquer des directives verbales et écrites;
- une bonne condition physique pour répondre aux exigences physiques essentielles;
- la capacité de travailler à la fois en équipe et seul(e) ou avec très peu de supervision;
- la capacité d’apprendre tous les protocoles et procédures de sécurité afin d’assurer la sécurité du personnel, des visiteurs et de collègues en tout temps.
