As part of the IT Team you will explore new technologies, drive infrastructure projects, and deliver exceptional support services to our team members nationwide.

The agriculture sector in Canada is undergoing a technical revolution. Join us on the front lines a member of the GVF IT Team.

**Working with us**:
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our head office at 151 Savage Drive, Cambridge, Ontario. You will have the flexibility to work from home one day per week. Typical work hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however given the nature and responsibilities of the position you may be required to work outside of these hours from time to time.

**What you’ll do**:

- Manage and implement IT projects as directed by the Director of Information Technology.
- Identify areas to create, improve and maintain the efficiency and reliability of the GVF Group network and services provided by IT.
- Create, deploy, and train GVF Team Members on IT Policies and Procedures.
- Provide timely daily desktop support to all employees, onsite and remote, across the GVF group of companies. This includes all Ontario locations (Cambridge), Western Canada locations (Lethbridge, Red Deer, Swift Current, Winnipeg, Brandon, and Langley) and all remote sales, operations, service/support teams that do not work in offices.
- Responsible for internal ticketing system and support desk metrics.
- Assist with desktop and laptop maintenance and configuration, support with other technical assets including printers, and POS terminals etc.
- Be responsible for new hire system setups and configuration as required.
- Oversee the daily monitoring of backups.
- Conduct general server maintenance and system updates.
- Support the Director of Information Technology with network, telecommunication systems and vendor relationships.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and attend company town halls and events.
- Provide reports and activity updates to your manager.
- Other tasks assigned by the Director, Information Technology.

**Your background includes**:

- Associate Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field of study
- 3+ year previous hands-on experience working in an IT position
- A real passion for technology and technological innovation
- Solid computer, hardware, and software skills
- Ability to work independently and stay organized while managing multiple projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service skills and natural ability to work with people
- Demonstrated commitment to continual learning about technology
- Ability to create technical documentation, both written and graphical using tools such as Word, PowerPoint and Visio
