Shop Assistant

Leduc, Canada Core Design Ltd. Full time

Under the direction and supervision of the Shop Manager, the Shop Assistant will set-up and assist in operating various equipment in our sand control and tool manufacturing facility and carry out other job duties as required. The Shop Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining their equipment and interpreting shop drawings.

**DUTIES**
- Operate band saw, column drill, shop press, drill press, phosphate tanks, pipe handling equipment, overhead and jib cranes and other shop equipment as required
- Tool assembly which may include the use of hand tools, power tools and vices as required.
- Occasional use of forklift, front end loader and OHC
- Upkeep and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- General shop duties to include housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
- Work in conjunction with the QA/QC to ensure a consistent and quality product
- Work in conjunction with the HSE and HR departments to promote a safe working environment and feedback on training needs both internally and externally

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Familiarity with shop tools and equipment
- Time management
- Self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Legible printing for paperwork
- Organizational skills
- Work with little direct supervision
- Goal orientated
- Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
- Ability to repetitively lift 50lbs unassisted
- Pipe yard / tubular handling experience considered an ASSET
- Rig experience considered an ASSET

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
