**Position Title**: Day Camp Group Leader, Support and Inclusion

**Location**: Blue Mountain YMCA Day Camp (1040 Winslow Ave, Coquitlam)

**Terms**: Seasonal Contract, Full-Time; 40 hours/week (option to continue in the fall with reduced/varied hours)

**Shift**: Monday - Friday shifts vary between 7:45am - 5pm

**Start Date**: June 22, 2023

**End Date**: August 28, 2023

**Salary**: $16.75 per hour

**Reports To**: Day Camp Director

**This position may be funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.**

Our Support & Inclusion Group Leaders are responsible for ensuring children with diverse abilities or support needs have an inclusive day camp experience.**Who we’re looking for**:

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate games and activities for campers.
- Engage and build relationships with campers.
- Work effectively within a staff team to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs to fully participate within the program.
- Help to build and contribute to a community environment of global supports and inclusion for all children through supporting their strengths and stretches.
- Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours.
- Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program
- Ensure all campers are safe and supervised at all times.
- Follow all YMCA policies and procedures.
- To be Professional (be on time, appropriately dressed, ensure confidentiality, etc.)

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children ages 5-12
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR - B or C & AED
- Available to work full time hours for entire contract
- Experience working with children 5 - 12 with additional support needs
- Experience as a Behavioral Internationalist or Support Worker an Asset

**Canada Summer Jobs Criteria**
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents**.**
