**Dietary Aide - Casual**

**Qualifications**
- Preference will be given to individuals who have successfully completed or are enrolled in a health care food services/food handling worker training program and/or have a diploma and previous experience in the food service industry.
- Must have current Food Handlers Certificate
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate verbally in English including written documentation & comprehension.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Complies with all provincial regulations and established dietary department policies and procedures.
- This is a multi-task position. The incumbent will be responsible for setting, serving and clearing tables in addition to cleaning and maintaining the dining room and serving area.
- Assists in the preparation and service of beverages, breakfast items, vegetables, nourishment items, salads, desserts and catering as assigned.
- May plate dishes at times.
- Maintains cleanliness for safety of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.
- Sets and cleans dining tables and trays.
- Waits on residents at dining room tables.
- Assists in dish and pan washing, storage, and cleaning duties.
- Delivers dietary carts to designated areas.
- Participates actively in special occasion and theme meal days.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.
- Follows and complies with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $19.15 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- North York, ON M6L 3C1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Dietary aide: 1 year (preferred)
- Serving: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
