Mower Operator

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, the Mower Operator is responsible to perform mowing along Municipal District roadways and drainage ditches.

**MAJOR**
- Operation of tractor and mower.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs of unit.

**MINOR**
- Change mower blades as required.
- Clear debris from roadside diches.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**:

- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform the duties listed above to a high degree of quality, timeliness and precision.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in equipment operation.
- Class 5 driver’s license.

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Good verbal and listening communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Use and operation of a vehicle.
- Must be self-motivated, and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to interpret, implement and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT**:

- Moderate physical effort; occasional heavy lifting.
- Extensive use and operation of a vehicle and equipment.
- Subject to working in outdoor environment - heat, cold, dry, dusty and / or wet conditions as well as insects, bees and wildlife.
- Hazards associated with working alongside roadways.
- Normal working day consists of 7.5 hours; however overtime may be required.

**HEALTH & SAFETY**:

- All personnel working at the Municipal District of Greenview are governed by the Municipal District Health & Safety Policy.
- Ensures all operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with Municipal District Policies and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
- Required to wear correct Personal Protective Equipment as per safe job procedures.
- Safety vest when on site or roadway.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: From $27.99 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
