We are seeking individuals interested in the role of **Diesel Technician**. The Diesel Technician, under the direction of the Service Manager, will primarily be responsible for conducting diagnostic procedures to determine vehicle maintenance requirements and providing accurate repairs for our customers vehicles.
**Job Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role, preferably in a dealership or automotive repair shop environment.
- Certification from a diesel technology program or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics and diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
**Job Requirements**:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and their components, including transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order including diagnostic trouble codes and cause and correction.
- Road tests vehicles when required and references job aid forms to qualify complaint
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events
- Reviewing manufacturer’s recall bulletins and ensuring that all steps are followed as per the guidelines set forth by the manufacturer
