**Athabasca University's Office of the Presidentis currently recruiting for the position of Initiatives and Events Lead.**

**Position**:
Reporting to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President (OOP), the Initiatives and Events Lead (IEL) is responsible for planning, leading, supporting, executing, evaluating, and improving special projects, initiatives and events in support of the OOP and Athabasca University (AU). This position plays a leading role in the deployment and management of AU House, coordinates and executes special events in alignment with the goals of the OOP and the institution, and delivers a range of project and initiative support that contributes to the needs and priorities of the office, university, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This position liaises with all levels of staff across the institution, as well as key stakeholders and partners external to the university, as needed in the fulfillment of duties. In all facets of this role, the IEL endeavours to support the university's commitments to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and, with Indigenous Peoples and communities, reconciliation.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant undergraduate degree or technical diploma.
- Three to five years of relevant work experience, such as in project or events managementsupervisory experience and training will be considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environmentsexperience in the postsecondary sector and working with senior leadership will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated capacity to identify and assess needs and problems, and collaboratively develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated capacity in project and initiative planning, oversight, execution and evaluation.
- Demonstrated capacity in process and policy evaluation, improvement and development.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy able to navigate new software easily.
- Must have a valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License
