Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate various heavy equipment with a high degree of skill, including excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and rock trucks.
- Execute finish grade work on multiple pieces with precision and accuracy.
- Perform tasks like loading trucks, rough grading, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, banking, material handling, and stockpiling.
- Interpret GPS, grade stakes, blueprints, and plans for proper task execution.
- Conduct equipment inspections using standardized checklists.
- Ensure safe work practices according to company policies, procedures, and local legislation.
- Identify and report hazards and potential hazards to site supervision.
- Report incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision.
- Assist with other duties as required to support team and project objectives.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 year of previous experience working with heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Must be able to perform finish grade in multiple pieces.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs, unassisted.
- Must be 18 years of age.
