Rock Climbing Instructor

Of Rock and Chalk is Newmarket’s oldest and only indoor climbing facility boasting the highest walls in the immediate area. Our staff are passionate about their roles in the company and continue to drive their own skills through individual practice, group practice and competition. As a Rock Climbing Coach staff member, you would be responsible for the safety and instruction of your charges. Working in tandem with the desk staff/supervisors, your success is measured by a spotless safety record and client accolades and satisfaction.

Being a Rock Climbing Coach staff member, you would be required to safely belay clients as well as instruct climbers in best practices, technique and safety.

Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Instructing how to put a harness on
- Fitting footwear
- Providing safety orientations
- Safely belaying lessons clients
- Instructing how to belay
- Coaching in climbing techniques and etiquette
- Maintaining a safety-first mentality at all times

Reporting to the Lessons Supervisor, the Rock Climbing Coach staff member is responsible for the effective coaching and entertainment of lessons clients while maintaining a safe and friendly environment.

Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: From $16.55 per hour
