Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a
- **Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis**.Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis and serving as an integral member of the finance team, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for managing the finance strategic goals including budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term cost modelling while working closely with operations. In addition, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be expected to bring energy and creativity to the identification of financial analysis and reporting opportunities. This role requires experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management in a fast paced, high growth organization.**Qualifications**:
- Education required:
- Bachelor of Business Administration with Major in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Accounting Designation
- Experience required: 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience managing or supervising team members
- Experience being a strategic thinker in a fast-paced high growth organization
- Experience with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with JD Edwards, Cognos, TM1, Ecosys
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Program Business Partner
- Develop strong relationships within program management team
- Manage the financial strategic planning, preparation of long-term financial forecasts, annual budgets, period and quarterly reviews of each program
- Prepare and manage project EAC’s
- Provide oversight of project EAC’s and period actuals for appropriate decision making
- Provide analysis over project profitability to highlight potential issues and trends to drive results by program management
- Develop and prepare financial analysis and reports
- Identify risks and opportunities for the program
- Provide proposal support and financial oversight of any RFP
- Responsible for program claim review
- Coordinate with Program Controls Team, Supply Chain teams, claims team, FAR team as needed
- Develop and implement policies and strategies as needed to meet business objectives
- Manage the flow of information and scrutiny of the material and subcontractor spend for the programs
- Government Contract Financial Management
- Participate in government meetings with both PSPC, DND and CCGV
- Prepare financial data as required by the customer under the contracts
- Assist program management in meeting financial requirements of each contract
- Prepare financial analysis as needed to support program management
- Prepare financial management plan in conjunction with program contract staff
- Manage all claim and financial related questions from Canada
- Managerial
- Coach and mentor finance team, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct performance development planning meetings, and hold individuals accountable
- Coach and mentor non-financial program team members to elevate financial knowledge generally at ISI and help others understand financial results and manage their financial responsibilities. Promoting better decision making which is financially prudent
- Provide value added financial support to other departments
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
