Energy Evaluator

It's On Electric Company is an electrical contractor and energy management consulting firm, involved with large scale program delivery of energy conservation programs throughout BC. We are currently working on the Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP) offered by BC Hydro Powersmart that provides qualified moderate to low-income BC Hydro residential account holders with a home energy evaluation, the installation of energy saving products, and personalized energy efficiency advice, at no cost to the participant.

We are currently looking to add to our team, and hire an **Energy Evaluator / Technician from Vancouver Island** to conduct evaluations of homes identifying energy saving opportunities, and then install various simple energy and water saving measures in homes and apartments. **Overnight travel will be required throughout Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.**

**RESPSONSIBILITES**:

- Attend training and education meetings with BC Hydro and the It’s On Electric team.
- Assist with the evaluation of residential homes and apartments to determine what energy and water saving opportunities are available, and recording this information onto a provided iPAD.
- Installing the following residential energy and water saving measures according to Program Standards:

- _LED light bulbs - Regular, Globes, Pot light bulbs_
- _Bathroom faucet aerators_
- _Kitchen faucet aerators_
- _LED plug in nightlights_
- _Low Flow Shower heads (Fixed and handheld)_
- _Refrigerator/Freezer thermometers_
- _Weatherstripping and pipe wrap_
- _Carbon monoxide sensors - plug in, and battery operated_
- Assist with the education of homeowners on the measures installed, and provide tips on further energy saving opportunities within the home.
- Complete all work in accordance with the company health and safety policies and Worksafe BC regulations

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Valid BC Driver’s Class 5 license and a clean driving record
- Must pass a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, and be willing to have completed every year.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Mechanically inclined
- Able to work well independently or as part of a team
- Committed to the highest level of safety standards
- Punctual and reliable

**NOT REQUIRED BUT WOULD BE AN ASSEST**:

- A Skilled Trade Certification would be valuable
- Would be compensated accordingly

Wages: Hourly wage + benefits after 3 months TBD

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.00-$36.00 per hour
