Sierra Supply Chain Services provides protein (poultry, beef, pork) solutions to the food processing and distribution sector. We simplify supply chain services and provide expanding value to the protein sector across our three locations in Brampton, Hamilton, and Mississauga.

We are excited to announce the expansion of a newest Processing facility in Hamilton that is: 25,000 square foot that allows for 200,000 kg of weekly multi protein grinding and daily custom boxing and blast freezing

**What You will Be Doing/Position Details**:
The Production Lead Hand is responsible for ensuring that the production line continues to run effectively and efficiently. The Production Line Leader prepares production reports, oversees workflow, and ensures practices are followed and product quality is maintained.

**Accountabilities and Detailed Activity**:
**Line Management**:

- Oversee line throughput. This includes setting up the production line, controlling production velocity, minimizing downtime, and tracking and recording production information
- Provide direction to the line workers. This includes controlling labour and break times and assigning line positions
- Ensure production results and targets are being met or exceeded
- Able to communication production needs clearly to production works and liaise with production supervisors/manager
- Assist in the development of production reports

**Food Safety & Quality Service**:

- Contribute and be involved in following follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation and Safety Standards
- Oversee employee compliance to GMP and HACCP policies and implement measures when deviations are noted
- Ensures all company guidelines, GMP’s, food safety policies are followed and implemented as assigned
- Oversee product quality standards are met and product cases/pallets are scanned into the system

**Leadership & Training**:

- Train operators on production line equipment and processing methods, development of employees
- Ensure all internal processes and practices are adhered to by line workers. This includes health and safety, GMPs and HACCP
- Employee recognition

Timely Line Production Fulfillment
- Monitor the production line(s) to ensure that production goals/tasks are being fulfilled in a timely manner (adhering to time constraints)
- Ensure that product is of the highest quality prior to being packaged/prepared for shipping/delivery

**Team Performance**:

- Monitor the performance of the production workers; support them in areas of improvement and growth
- Ensure production workers feel supported and motivated to accomplish production goals efficiently
- Recognize members of the team who may require further support or training opportunity
- Surpass the set targets, keep goals clear and focused. Encourage team building

**Minimum Requirements**:

- High School Diploma
- Previous experience in a food processing/production environment considered an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written communication
- Organized, thrives in a team environment
- Ability to follow instructions
- Basic Mathematical and Calculation Skills
- Comfortable with the environment: smell of meat, cool temperatures
