We're looking for a **Packer **that will pack orders and prepare them to be shipped, inspect them according to specifications and transport them carefully as needed to bring them to shipping facilities. The packer ensures the items are packed in the most efficient way to minimize breakage during transit, is comfortable utilizing various power tools and is able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assemble, line and pad boxes, cartons, crates and containers, using hand tools.
- Inspect packing for tears, cracks and dents, and make sure the materials inside are packed in a way to minimize breakage during transit.
- Perform final checks for defective items and ensure all working items make it to the packaging area. Any defective items must be discarded according to company procedures.
- Place completed products into boxes and prepare them for shipping by weighing, labeling and recording information.
- Place products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment.
- Ensure that the prepared packages make it to their designated locations, such as loading zones or inventory locations.
- Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Keep complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse. Keep track of packaging supplies (e.g. tape, staples, boxes, etc.) and advise Supervisor if running low.
- Maintain warehouse inventory by arranging boxes and making sure they’re stored in a way so they won’t get damaged.
- Ensure all orders that are packaged and shipped are tracked in order to ensure inventory is accurately recorded.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
- Break down cardboard for recycling.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties.
- Training is done on the job, but prior experience with pallets, pallet jacks or forklifts is preferred.
- Active listening and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Great attention to detail.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Literate.
- Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
- Good organization and time management skills.
- English Language skills: demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
- High School Diploma/ GED is an asset.
