The Locksmith performs installation, maintenance, repair, retrofitting and preventative maintenance of all door related hardware, automatic door openers, automatic sliding doors, card and electrified access systems, locking mechanisms and doors/door frames. The incumbent assists with managing all keying databases and the access control database. The incumbent maintains and coordinates the expansion of the master key systems.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Install, maintain, and repair all door locks and door related hardware and software. Tasks may range in complexity from adjustments to door closers or the changing of lock cores to the installation, wiring and programming of an automatic door opener or accessing the card access database remotely to test door hardware functions.
- Reviews and processes all requests for keys, programs access cards, maintains spare and blank key inventory, cuts keys, codes and stamps key appropriately. Adjusts schedules for reader controlled space.
- follow-up on client requests and to coordinate preferred access times.
- Maintains departmental records by documenting completed work in the Archibus Workplace Management System. Updates and maintains master key holder database and card access database.
- Obtains quotes for parts, materials and supply costs for projects and renovations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Completion of Locksmithing I and II
- A minimum of three (3) years experience and competence in all phases of locksmith work and with large master key systems and access control systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and CMMS experience is an asset.
- Works well under pressure in a busy and high volume environment.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communications skills demonstrated by working professionally and effectively with people at all levels internally and externally to the college.
- Well-developed problem solving and decision making skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

**Required Skills**:
Starting Hourly Rate: $30.87; Four Year Rate: $35.77

Required Experience

Hours: 40 hours per week (1) one hour lunch; Mon - Fri (8:00 am - 5:00 pm)
