**Job Description**:
We are hiring an
**AVP, Marketing and Communications**:
Reporting to the VP, Marketing, this is a critical product marketing & communications leadership role with accountability to build and lead a holistic marketing organization including vision, strategic planning and delivery with a significant product, advisor and customer segment focus.

This is a senior strategic marketing leader role requiring marketing credibility, ability to build and effectively lead a successful team and develop new capabilities.

**What you will do**:
**Key Outputs**
- Help build, lead & implement the Marketing Vision, Strategies and Plans for our entire Canada Life business, Individual Wealth, Individual Insurance, Group Benefits, Group Retirement Services, and Distribution
- Create planning and governance documents (tools, templates, briefs) that guide the team ensuring support and outputs provide the best ROI
- Lead annual marketing plans and roadmap development

**Personal and Marketing team leadership**
- Elevate the team’s skill and output with modern thinking and approaches
- Develop and lead a high-performance leadership team who delivers value for all stakeholders
- Coach members of their team to help them develop within their roles and expand expertise
- Act as a critical leader and mentor for the entire organization
- Elevate and build Marketing credibility

**Marketing Effectiveness**
- Build a discipline of setting expectations and measuring results from marketing efforts
- Drive optimization of marketing strategy and programs to drive continuous improvement

**What you will bring**:

- 10+ years of progressive senior marketing experience. Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- World-class marketing experience:

- Development of product vision and architectures
- Development of marketing strategy and programs, both digital and traditional
- Building and coaching world class marketing teams
- Proven ability to quickly ramp up understanding on new business/issues, simplify complex situations, communicate recommendations and drive to action
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and project management skills
- Seasoned communicator accustomed to collaborating with internal and external clients/business units as well as senior leaders and executives to articulate, influence and execute a strategy or strategic initiative
- Excellent analytical skills, including marketing analysis and customer research
- Demonstrated leadership in matrix environments
- Experience coaching and mentoring senior marketing team members, especially in strategy, marketing, customer experience and insights
- Strong people/team leadership experience and collaboration skills
