A privately held Canadian Company, we are a successful supply chain partner providing “Intelligent Delivery” of products and solutions to the Industrial, Environmental, and Plastics industries. We currently operate two manufacturing sites in Colborne and Elmira Ontario and have supporting warehouses and sales representatives across Canada and in the Northeastern United States.

**Location**: Colborne, ON.**

**Reports to**: Purchasing & Inventory Supervisor, Manufactured Plastics**

CCC Plastics is seeking a Buyer at our Colborne location who will be supporting production schedules for manufacturing to meet the shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders while meeting company set goals.

**Primary responsibilities**:

- Review material requirement report daily and generate purchase orders with designated vendors to meet production requirements.
- Establish and cultivate positive relationships with vendors regularly to support a reliable supply chain with material requirements consistent with the highest level of cost effectiveness.
- Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates and prices, and report such changes to the interested parties in a prompt manner.
- Monitor market trends, assess supplier capabilities, and identify cost-saving opportunities in the procurement process for both short term and long term.
- Maintain vendor price file accuracy and ensure all price changes are up to date within the system.
- Review product usage and communicate product requirement/forecast to vendors.
- Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select the best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to help resolve procurement related problems.
- Support customer requirements by communicating frequent updates to required parties on critical raw material issues.
- Assist development activities in sourcing of new products and R & D projects in obtaining product information and samples as required.
- Support profit improvement plan to reduce overall raw material cost annually.
- Secure and maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals and as set by management.
- Support budgeted guidelines for inventory dollars and turns by negotiating requirements with suppliers. Consideration must also be given to storage capabilities within warehouse, silos, and railcar retention charges.

**Background Required**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience related in purchasing or procurement.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Self-motivated; ability to execute and prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment - Plastic processing an asset
- ERP software knowledge and experience
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in the use of base MS Office tools (Excel, Word etc.)
