Westpro has an immediate opening for a **STEEL FABRICATOR**to join our production team

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate the plasma table, horizontal band saw, magnetic drill and iron worker.
- Band saw cutting for all structural steel as per cut lists.
- Assist fitters when required.
- Lay out and assist with FIT & WELD of large fabrications including tanks, frames, drums, structural steel beams.
- Weld components using Flux Core Arc Welding and other methods.
- Cut work pieces, operate oxy-acetylene plate bevellers and metal grinding as required.
- Create DXF from ACAD.
- Nesting DXF for plasma table.
- Assemble components according to drawings and ensure Bill of Material accuracy.
- Responsible for visual inspection of material before and after assembly.
- Conduct inspections for conformance to drawing specifications, functional operation and appearance.
- Participate in a variety of heavy assembly and test work.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Heavy lifting is required.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 1 to 3 years experience with steel process equipment.
- Crane operation and material handling experience an asset
- Experience with carbon steel fabricating preferred.
- Good working knowledge of HS practices including safe workplace conduct, safe material handling procedures, safe operation of machinery, and personal protective equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- CWB Certification an asset.
- Completion of college or vocational/technical training an asset.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Forklift Certification an asset.
- Clean Drivers Abstract.

**Salary**: From $26.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Mechanical Assembly: 2 years (preferred)
- working with dimensional tools and instruments: 2 years (preferred)
- welding: 2 years (preferred)
- Forklift: 1 year (preferred)
- overhead crane operation: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
