**Duties and Responsibilities**

The Concrete Finishing Superintendent is expected to be on-site **(our current project sites are located throughout the lower mainland, but predominantly in the Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby areas)** and is responsible for optimizing efficiency, managing budgets and contracts with finishing sub-contractors, ensuring that the needs of internal and external stakeholders are met; and contractual obligations are honored, in addition direction for the sub-contractor crews. The position is also responsible for:

- Conducting inspections with finishing subcontractors to ensure that work is being done based on the finishing scope & contract.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the General Contractors and Superintendents
- Overseeing data compilation as well as researching and preparing relevant reports/records
- Monitoring the progress of work relative to the budget, schedule, quality, manpower and completeness
- Identifying problems and evaluate if alternative approaches should be taken to meet the expected targets

**Education, Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum five (5) years of Commercial &/or Infrastructure construction experience/formwork
- Proficient with MS Suite - Outlook, Word and Excel
- Thorough knowledge and experience in patching/rendering a must
- Knowledge of concrete placing and project planning
- Knowledge of construction industry and concrete forming is mandatory
- Knowledge and the ability to comply with all WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines and ensure site cleanliness
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings is preferred
- Develop and monitor Quality Control for concrete finishing
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate crews & sub-contractors
- Creative and effective problem solving, reasoning and decision-making skills
- Effective organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively while under pressure and time constraints
- Ability to work well with others with mínimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset
- Must have personal protection equipment (PPE) and a reliable means of transportation to job sites
- Must be able to work outdoors on occasion and in adverse weather conditions
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as required including weekends
- Must be reliable, dependable and detail-oriented
