We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Buyer/Planner to work in our Oakville office.

**SUMMARY**

Plans and purchases raw materials supporting manufacturing and finished products and under the general supervision of the Distribution Manager by performing the following duties. This position will manage suppliers to ensure on time delivery at while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reviews sales forecast and customer order demands and ensures orders are placed and delivered in a timely manner.
- Track, investigate and report all past due orders and work with vendors to expedite.
- Interfaces with Customer Service, Sales, Product Managers, and Planners in other Hayward companies in order to satisfy customer demands.
- Purchases and expedites needed materials, based on lead times and safety stock, from various vendors, both domestic and international.
- Maintains purchase orders, updating delivery dates, price, or other required supplier information.
- Executes purchase order cancellations and resolves invoice discrepancies.
- Takes an active part in new product development activities as it relates to parts procurement.
- Co-ordinate with vendors any defective products, replacements and obtain RMA# for returns.
- Maintain and create bill of materials.
- Update all vendors information/pricing in MRP.
- Monitors inventory levels (dollars/units) to meet company targets.
- Maintains and updates item master list as necessary.
- Work closely with sales, finance, and production on obsoleted/slow moving items.
- Co-ordinate switching vendors and moving existing tools/dies.
- Prepare and update Costing worksheet annually.
- Performs all other duties/special projects as assigned by Manager.

**Education and Experience**:
Preferred Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**:
Preferred APICS certification as a CPIM is helpful.

**Other Skills and Abilities**:
Experience with AS400 systems is a plus.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
