**Lead Pharmacy Assistant**

**Location**: Sidney Pharmacy, Heart Pharmacy Group

**Position Type**: Full-Time

**Heart Pharmacy Group** is seeking an organized, customer-focused, and hands-on **Lead Pharmacy Assistant** to join our team at the **Sidney Pharmacy location**. In this leadership role, you will support both pharmacy and front store operations, contributing to seamless day-to-day functions while delivering exceptional service to our patients and customers.

**Job Summary**

The **Lead Pharmacy Assistant** will oversee the pharmacy assistant team while supporting pharmacy operations, front store activities, and workflow management. **Key Responsibilities**

**Pharmacy Responsibilities (75%)**
- Assist patients with prescription drop-off and pick-up.
- Accurately enter prescriptions and patient information into PharmaNet.
- Support pharmacists with prescription filling, labeling, and compounding oral solutions, ointments, and creams under supervision.
- Prepackage bulk medications for compliance patients or nursing homes.
- Manage wholesale medication orders, inventory counts, and dead drug disposal.
- Assist with the training and development of new pharmacy assistants.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, restocking supplies, and organizing workspaces.
- Support the Pharmacy Manager with scheduling, biweekly timesheet sign-offs, and day-to-day workflow.
- Screen telephone calls and direct queries to pharmacists when required.

**Front Store Responsibilities (25%)**
- Stock shelves, manage product facing, and perform daily fixture maintenance.
- Identify low stock levels, assist with product ordering, and price/receive inventory.
- Maintain plan-o-grams, product labels, and promotional signage.
- Set up displays, fixtures, and cross-merchandise promotions.
- Educate customers about products and provide exceptional customer service.
- Operate cash registers and support front store team members when needed.
- Perform inventory counts, data collection, and general merchandising.
- Ensure store cleanliness and participate in team development activities.

**Leadership Responsibilities**
- Create schedules for pharmacy assistants and ensure all shifts are covered.
- Support the team with timekeeping issues via Payworks, ensuring clock-ins/outs are accurate.
- Partner with accounting on inventory, billing, and accounts receivable inquiries.
- Act as a daily point of contact for team workflow, supporting pharmacy and front store operations.

**What You Bring**
- **
Minimum 2 years of pharmacy assistant experience** in a fast-paced pharmacy environment (required).
- Proficiency with **Kroll pharmacy software** (an asset).
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required); post-secondary education (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer systems.
- A professional, positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.

Compensation

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
