Jones Rail Industries Ltd. (JRI) is a dynamic rail repair company offering an array of services to industrial customers that rely on the railway to transport and receive their raw goods and/or finished products. Our team is skilled in track design, construction, maintenance, repair, re-railing, and other emergency services for railway industry customers.

We are in the process of expanding our team and are looking to hire a Track Maintainer to add to our crew. This position is an opportunity to gain training and experience in the safe operation of tools and equipment used for the railway industry.

**LOCATION**:Johnstown, Ontario
Some travel required at the cost of the Employer.

**LANGUAGE**:English, French is an asset

**JOB TYPE**:Permanent, Full-time

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
A Track Maintainer, under the direction of the Foreman, is responsible for:

- Assisting with track construction, maintenance and repair;
- Assisting with track inspections;
- Clearing brush, overgrowth and snow from rail passages as needed;
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order;
- Assisting with the unloading and distribution of materials at jobsites;
- Recording job details and use of material/equipment on work orders as needed;
- Cleaning up jobsites; and
- Other tasks as required.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 3 years of previous experience in the Railway industry, safety sensitive position, or related field
- High School Diploma, or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED)
- Valid Driver’s License, and secure method of transportation
- Meet and maintain pre-employment testing requirements for physical fitness and impairment free workplace
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Collaborative team member
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed, including travel

**ASSET QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Knowledge of all aspects of track maintenance
- Valid Certified Track Inspector (Transport Canada Railway Track Safety Rules) certificate.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR C + AED training.
- Post-secondary education in construction, mechanics, or related field

**Salary**: From $21.00 per hour
