The Division

Golden Hills School Division covers a large geographical area and serves just over 9000 students from 16 communities, 19 Hutterite colonies and Siksika Nation. There are also three outreach schools and two virtual schools. The Division office is located in Strathmore, approximately 25 minutes east of Calgary on the Trans-Canada highway.

Golden Hills School Division employs over 430 teachers and approximately 395 support staff, including bus drivers, maintenance workers, educational assistants, caretakers, and others to support the delivery of education services.

Working as part of the senior management team, the Director of Human Resources is directly responsible to the Deputy Superintendent for the supervision of all Human Resource functions. As well, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing strong, student-centered leadership and collaborative support in their liaison work with schools in the district.

Principalship or other administrative experience;
An understanding of HR best practices and the ability to connect meaningfully with people;
The ability to provide effective leadership focusing on student learning;
Successful problem-solving practices and collaborative leadership;
A track record of success in the management of people and highly developed team-building skills;
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills;
A style that is enthusiastic, innovative, and entrepreneurial;
