**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures food is served to the residents in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Follows specific routines for set-up of Dining Room for each meal.
- Knows correct serving techniques for all types of food and beverage on the menu.
- Acts as a team member and works cooperatively/supportively with other departments.
- Listens to and solicits residents’ feedback regarding their dining experience.
- Maintains the Dining Room as a safe and sanitary environment.
- Ensures serving areas, dining room, kitchen refrigerators, etc. are cleaned to the specific standards.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a retirement residence or hotel setting an asset.
- Serving experience an asset.
- Ability to relate to elderly persons showing courtesy and understanding.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts (including split shifts), as required.
- Must be available days, evenings (4:30-7:30pm), weekends, holidays.
