**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Support the research team through providing skilled technical procedures. This may include:

- conducting laboratory tests, experiments and analysis to assist in the goals of the research
- Record findings to contribute to publication within the field of the research in both a national and international level
- Conduct laboratory tests, experiments and analyses

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree
- Specialized Certification, Cell Biology, or Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology or Physiology
- Minimum 2 years of technical experience and completion of post-secondary education in related discipline
- 1 to 3 years of related technical experience within the research specialty field
- Technical expertise in standard cell biology and biochemistry techniques such as RNA and DNA isolation, genotyping, transfections of cells in culture, RT-qPCR, Western immunoblotting, immunostaining, and operation of simple and confocal microscopes is an asset
- Perform detailed design, documentation, and implementation of moderately complex technological systems
- Interact with other members of the team and undertake literature reviews
- Provide technical support for other team members through advice on technical lab issues
- Previous experience working with various biological samples (eg. blood, tissues, urine, etc)
- Previous experience working with live animals (mice) is an asset
- Previous experience working with cells in culture is an asset
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable
- WHMIS
